Blythe Cricket Club – Codes of Conduct
Code of Conduct for Players
As a player at Blythe CC, I will:

Respect my teammates, opponents, coaches, umpires, and officials at all times.

Play within the spirit and Laws of cricket.

Listen to my coaches and captains, and follow reasonable instructions.

Encourage others and celebrate their success.
-
Never use foul, abusive, or discriminatory language.
-
Wear appropriate kit and protective equipment as advised.

Take responsibility for my own behaviour on and off the field.

Report any concerns to my captain, coach, or the Club Safeguarding Officer.
I understand that breaches of this Code may result in warnings, suspension, or exclusion from the club.
Code of Conduct for Parents/Carers
As a parent/carer at Blythe CC, I will:

Encourage my child to enjoy cricket and respect others.

Support the club’s coaches, officials, and volunteers.
-
Never use foul, abusive, or discriminatory language at players, officials, or spectators.

Ensure my child arrives on time for training/matches with the right kit.
-
Collect my child promptly from training/matches and inform the coach if late.
-
Communicate with coaches about any health/availability issues.
-
Respect match officials and never enter the field of play.

Support the club’s safeguarding policies, including photography, transport, and changing arrangements.
I understand that failure to follow this Code may lead to being asked to leave club activities and, if serious, suspension of my child’s membership.
Code of Conduct for Coaches & Team Managers
As a coach/team manager at Blythe CC, I will:

Prioritise the well-being, enjoyment, and safety of all players.

Be a positive role model at all times.
-
Treat all children fairly and equally, respecting differences.
-
Create an environment where all players feel valued and encouraged.
-
Plan sessions appropriate to age and ability.
-
Ensure players wear protective kit (helmets, pads, etc.) as required.
-
Hold the required ECB qualifications and keep training up to date.
-
Maintain my DBS clearance and safeguarding awareness.

Report any concerns immediately to the Club Safeguarding Officer.

Avoid one-to-one situations with juniors wherever possible.
-
Never engage in or tolerate abusive, bullying, or discriminatory behaviour.
I understand that breaches of this Code may result in suspension of coaching duties and referral to the Club/ECB.
Code of Conduct for Volunteers & Club Officials
As a volunteer/official at Blythe CC, I will:

Support the aims and values of the club.

Carry out my role responsibly, fairly, and with integrity.

Respect all players, parents, coaches, and other volunteers.
-
Complete any required training (DBS, safeguarding, first aid).
-
Follow the club’s safeguarding, health & safety, and welfare policies.

Maintain confidentiality where appropriate.
-
Raise concerns with the Club Safeguarding Officer or Exec Committee.
-
Never misuse my position of trust or engage in inappropriate behaviour.
I understand that breaches of this Code may result in disciplinary action, suspension, or dismissal from my role
Enforcement & Review
All members (players, parents, coaches, and volunteers) must sign to acknowledge these Codes. Breaches will be addressed via the Club’s Disciplinary Policy and may involve warnings, suspension, or expulsion. These Codes will be reviewed annually by the Executive Committee in line with ECB updates.
